{     Simple Shoes / TOMS Shoes     }

In the peak of the season we find we’re balancing on humid laden scorchers and days that have grown shorter towards colder nights. For this purpose we must find the means of protecting our bipedal equipment: our feet.

My first pair of shoe recommendations comes from a previous note maker on CrownDozen, Simple Shoes. As you find yourself trekking in the still summer weather, you’re going to want to wear a pair of comfy pads, specifically in sandal forms and this is where Simple comes to play. Whilst their sandal line is pretty cool, the ace in the hole is the “Cushee” sandal. The sandal’s body is made of something that looks as if it were torn from the walls of a musician’s sound studio in a fit of rage, thrown onto the floor in a cut foot pattern, and strap appendages bound to them in the liberation to warmer, less captive environments. That or they were considering the wavy padding would feel great on your feet while you wore them (and they do). Honestly, if you need a pair of ace sandals, I’d really recommend these. They’re not your everyday pair of sandals and they’re conscience gold as they’re all around friendly for the environment. Even cooler, they come in biodegradable bags that you can just chuck and not have the guilt of sentencing your grandchildren to cleaning up one day. That’s right, you’re also dodging a future dirty scowl. Of all the summer pairs I have come across, these sandals are really highly recommended. Check them out, click the link below.

Next up on the review list is the flip side of the philanthropic universe recommendations comes from TOMS Shoes whom you may or may not have heard of by now. To catch you up, back in 2006 TOMS began a crusade of generosity by giving shoes to children in need from around the world (places like Argentina and South Africa). In a bid to make business both profitable and philanthropic, TOMS has gone on to state that for every pair of TOMS shoes you purchase, they will give a pair of shoes to a child in need, “One for One.” Having gotten my hands, or rather my feet, around a few pairs of TOMS shoes I have this to say: In a modern world where footing can mean the difference between making it down the stairs safely and being able to perform the moonwalk whilst drunk at 80’s night, TOMS shoes are advisably chosen for certain occasions and places. I have chosen for the most part to make my TOMS a more “slipper” capacity than day to day footwear. However, the ease and relaxed comfort do make them worthwhile for more than evening in front of the fireplace occasions. Do I recommend them? Absolutely. When worn for there shear purpose of cozying up the “lil piggies” you’ll be quite satisfied that you’re wearing the coolest cozies on the block whilst also being able to put something on the scale in your favor when you meet St. Peter at the pearly gates. Be sure to click the link below and find the pair of TOMS shoes that fit you.

Enjoy the rest of the summer...fall is right around the corner. Walk on.
