Thanks for the guided tour.
I'm slowly mulling these over, it's a lot to digest, and they've put more work up online at the links you've provided since the original post, so it makes for lots of chewing before I swallow.
But damn does it all taste good.
That Julie Heffernan work is amazing. I think if I were there in the gallery looking at it, I would have to laugh out loud, exuberantly, and fuck how terribly gauche it may be perceived.

Yeah and a bunch more stuff has opened since I posted this piece too. I'll probably get another one up in a few weeks.

The funny thing about Julie is that she came out of Yale right around the time Lisa Yuskavage and John Currin did and despite the similarities in their work never hit with the same sense of fashionability. It's a shame.

People are really digging the show though. It's so refreshing for folks to see an interesting, solid painting show especially one put together by a strong woman artist.

Damn I wish I could have seen that Pettibon show. And like Adam said, the Julie Heffernan pieces are flooring. Wowsa.
