{     Jeepney's New Braves Tee     }

Looks a little familiar, eh? The one on the left would be clothing company Jeepney and the one on the right would be HelloMinor, a season after season favorite. HelloMinor pressed those tees last season, fangs and all, and Jeepney just put their design up for sale on Karmaloop this week. Fangs and all.

UPDATE: Before you leave a comment saying it's just the old Braves logo, please read the comments below. To sum it up: Did the Braves Logo have fangs? No, it didn't. See for yourself:

That said, it seems the two clothing labels have come to terms with each other about the whole deal and everyone is cool. It turns out that Jeepney purchased the design from a separate design agency whom I won't name here, and as it's impossible for everyone to know all the tee designs out there all the time, we can't fault Jeepney.

I wasn't trying to cause a ruckus, I just saw what I saw and reacted to it. I still think the designer of Jeepney's shirt bit HelloMinor's design, even though it was derivative of the old Braves logo itself. Jeepney is okay in our book, and this should serve as a great example of how as a small label, you need to be careful enlisting out-of-house designers to produce pieces for your line.

I sent this over to:
They do a really good job of documenting and calling people out on their shit.

dude that is just the original braves logo. it isnt hellominor's design! hellominor just straight up copied and pasted the original logo. jeepney stylized theirs.

Har. Har. Did the Braves Logo have fangs? No, it didn't.

My initial reaction was "Oh, they just took HelloMinor's Braves idea from last season and put maori markings on it. Lame, but it still looks good." Then I was like, "Wait a sec, it has FANGS too - they straight STOLE it!" If you notice, I mentioned that above. In the "fangs and all" part.

I'll leave the comments left (but didn't leave your emails of course) for the next people to see before they make the same mistake.

Funny indeed.

All Hellominors designs look like straight bites... if you go to their site they are straight up eating 10deeps logo and designs... their stuff looks like Hellzbellz.

WOW. All I say was a funny post on Hello Minor's blog. I think they reacted in a pretty cool civil way.

It does looks like a flat out bite to a "non industry" regular guy like me.

I don't know but it sure looks more like Jeepney modified Hello Minor's version. Kinda like when you go into a restaurant and they give kids a black & white picture to color.

Which comments do you guys think werent written by Jeepney?

Posted by: Hmmmmm at July 21, 2007 1:24 AM

"An IP address is a unique address that certain electronic devices use in order to identify and communicate with each other—in simpler terms, a computer address. ... An IP address can also be thought of as the equivalent of a street address or a phone number for a computer or other network device on the Internet."

Now that you know what an IP address is, I just checked and the IP addresses of the above comments and the comments from "Jen", "Craze G", "angelo" and "John" are all from the same IP address,

YO - that last comment was hillarious! Y'all Ninjas got caught! For reals though - I like Jeepney and Hello Minor and I think they both got heat and they both used the Braves logo with fangs - so fucking what?!!! I could see if it was a design that someone just made up but they both bit the old logo?!!! I seriously don't see the big deal in this?...They don't even look alike. YO GSB - you should put more posts like this though....Funny shit

Well isnt that a bitch.. Just when we thought there was some real traffic comin thru it turns out is is just one crazed doofis who has some terrible design skills. I have not seen this many comments since, well ever.
See Shane, conflict can sometimes be a good thing....LOL!
Augest 9th fool. Might have to drag you out for a good old fashion night of New York wheat pastin!

The oppression of Native Americans continues. What a sad country we live in.

I just keep hearing "Who Made Who" from the Maximum Overdrive soundtrack over and over again in my head...

Posted by: Adam at July 21, 2007 11:26 PM

Adam, are you listening to the song with that name or the band? I just saw Who Made Who (band) live and they were brilliant: they wore skeleton bodysuits and had bare feet the entire time.

Anyway, wow... I agree with anybody who said small labels should research carefully their designs. But, just like in music, some unintentional repetitions that seems total rip-offs are definitely due to happen...
(and I like the Hello Minor a lot more...)
