{ Blood Is The New Black }

Ah yes, time to up the t-shirt ante for Spring folks - and just out from sunny Los Angeles-based label Blood Is The New Black is a fresh new line featuring the work of artists such as Tiffany Malakooti, Steve Green, Louisvillian Patrick Jilbert (Kentucky rep'zent!), Porous Walker, and CrownDozen.com favorite Travis Millard. Blood Is The New Black was kickstarted in 2004 by young fashion maven Mitra Khayyam, with the intention of showcasing the work of emerging artists; the "shirt as canvas" approach, you could call it. The tees are top-notch and the designs are truly wearable art, giving the artists credit where credit is due. More-so, the tees are themselves super-soft, well-cut, BITNB originals - no American Apparel whatever'ness to 'em, these are made in-house and feel like, well, to tell the truth they feel like money very well-spent. The Blood Is The New Black online store now boasts over 150 well-chosen pieces for men and women, as well as accessories and even a poster from the Fudge himself, Travis Millard!
