{ Sam Gibbons "Cakehead" at Claire Oliver Gallery }
Sam Gibbon's first solo show in New York at Claire Oliver Gallery carries the flame lit at his Hunter MFA thesis show last year. The focus here is on his signature, wall-mounted, woodcut, cartoon rorschachs. The group is reservedly singular, maintaining a high level of attention to craft without sacrificing inventiveness. This makes the show as marketable as it is bonkers. The epidemic of red dots on the price list corroborates.
Kudo's to Gibbons for a successful and nearly sold out (as of this posting) debut.

Hey Aaron, when you see these in person, are they rectangular or are they cut out? Please say cut out.
