In a feeble attempt to hold onto it's dwindling audience, hair-metal got even more pussified in the early 90's, delivering us saccharine ballads and limp-wristed harmonies that fell far short of anything anyone would ever call ROCK. Sadly, this was just the start of much worse things to come- as Hootie and the Blowfish so amply proved.
