Great list, I entirely agree. It is not necessarily about taste, as the commentor above misunderstood. More -- comfort, familarity, smoothness, safety, and a sense of goodwill . . . even timelessness, falling asleep in the moment, cocooned from problems in the distracting but not engaging sounds, enough to cancel concentration of mind into thoughtlessness, and so to sleep.
