{     Dvorak Symphony no 9: From the New World     } Time for the city classical radio. What makes good music so challenging is that in its contemporary emotional and spiritual value it is able to grow and renew in importance and style. Sometimes we forget, and sometimes we turn on radio magic. Like I did two days ago. Now take Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony no 9. The last one in his ouvre. Did you know that Neil Armstrong took this symphony to the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969? Word. What makes this classic so incredibly interesting, is that it seems to own an outstanding immersion into the inspiration that guided the composer to the creation of the piece. Presumably it was inspired by tradional musical sources from France, Scotland and Germany and of course his homeland Czech and America, where he wrote it. In this worldy thematic the music becomes a lust for the traveller. Its dance commutes swiftly. Attacks, defends. Sleeps, wakes up. Calms down, goes wild. Meditating cleverly, the composer pensively explores the great tragedy in all its great adventure and style, and takes us to a place where you immediately find yourself at home. If it is the country and its girls dancing, or the city with its great buildings falling in and onto you, or outer space with its immeasurable lyric supremacy, this can drop into your heart with great speed. Plus, a great soundtrack for Springs awakening.
