{ Yours, Mine & Ours }

So this is that Miranda July shit I’ve been hearing about? Don’t believe the hype.

I don't think you understand.
This is like "Cheaper by the Dozen", only with 6 MORE kids! So it's automatically 6 kids funnier! Then, they put a cherry on top of this family entertainment sundae of gargantuan proportions: a hiliarious pet pig! And it totally eats a cell phone!
You fucking culture snobs need to get over yourselves and realize that this is the real deal, THIS is American comedy the way it should be done.

Posted by: Lindsey at December 2, 2005 08:35 PMsorry guys, I liked Me and You and Everyone We Know... I thought it was well made and while the hype did seem to be a little much, I hardly blame the filmmaker (yup, she's a woman). It was easily as good, if not better, than several other hyped-up "indies" in recent memory. And while some parts did fall on the sugary-sweet, corny side, this is her first feature film and I thought it was very well acted and written.
But what she has to do with this Dennis Quaid vehicle is unknown to me.
There's obviously been some sort of miscommunication here. You see, the 2005 film Yours, Mine and Ours is a remake of the 1968 Lucille Ball classic in which a widower with 10 kids marries a widow with 8 of her own. The twist in the remake is that it's the widow who has 10 kids, and the widower who has 8! Oh these modern times!
Plus, as I've pointed out above, the remake is six kids funnier than 2003's Cheaper by the Dozen. And it has a pig. And did I mention that the pig eats a cell phone? Because it totally does, and hilariousness doth ensue. Also, it stars Lil' JJ, winner of BET's reality TV stand-up comedy talent-show "Coming to the Stage", so you know this film's got serious acting chops and goo-gobs of street cred to boot.
You said "Goo-Gobs."
